Workshops at the Cobb and Co. Museum

The workshops at the museum focus on numerous traditional fabrication skills that were required to develop the rural and urban communities in Australia over the last two centuries. These include woodworking, carriage fabrication, metalworking, blacksmith foundry working, leather-working, stone working.

The museum also focuses on demonstrating and preserving the practical skills by developing and operating working workshops that are capable of commercial product production. While the working skills have a long history, the working environments are modern, with modern equipment, tools and health and safety arrangements and facilities.

The videos and photo album below illustrate two workshops:

  • the National Carriage Workshop
  • the Blacksmithing Workshop

An accompanying album shows examples of products produced at the museum.
