I am writing to apologise for the problems we had this morning with the sausage sizzle. It will have been disappointing to have had your time constrained to little purpose and sad to see some resources disposed off with little benefit.

There was an unfortunate failure of communication between myself and Bunnings which we have discussed and have sorted out. I will make a suggestion to the Bunnings representative about a further approach which may have benefits for all concerned, but will take a little time to implement if accepted.

In the meantime we have been offered a Saturday Sausage Sizzle (15th September), which is a generous response to the problem. Please think about whether you can help on that day and let David Spillane, Brian Massey, Norbert, Neil, Steve Chakalakis or myself know.

Volunteers are requested to provide a sausage sizzle for the BBQ&A being organised by the Autism Hub. It is on the 30th July '18 with sizzle preparations starting at 5:30 PM and finishing around 7:30 PM.

There is a button in the events area for the evening of 30th July where you can let us know that you can come.

We will be using the barbeque behind the back sliding door and with some luck will have lighting out there. Bring camping lights to be on the safe side!

Andrew McInally and his team of cinematographers have created a video showing the activities that occurred in and around the Workshop during the Saturday guitar workshops. I will try and download the video but I suspect it may exceed our storage on Wild Apricot. In the meantime look at it on our FaceBook page.

The next Sausage Sizzle will be on the 4th July 2018 at Bunnings Rocklea. The events page has an button for that day that will enable you to sign up and indicate when you can come and help. Otherwise there will be a whiteboard at the Shed to fill in.

The later Sizzles are on August 15, September 12th and 17th October and will appear on the events pages nearer the time.

The Leather Workshop on Wednesday 2nd May '18 is fully subscribed. I have set up a registration page that will let you register your interest in any future workshops.

For those lucky enough to be attending this first Workshop I have guessed the finish time!

Work started on Friday 20th April '18 on the Heritage Shed. Workers included Andrew McInally, Steve Pearce and Kieron O'Connell. They have made an excellent start, despite the presence of a self-effacing but definitely scary brown snake. Andrew provided the photos showing their sterling work.

Sylvain Hohn will give a talk about the research he is doing into financial decision making in people aged 60 to 89. He will be looking for volunteers to initially undertake a telephone survey and possibly have follow up interviews, perhaps at the Shed.

His talk will be at the Shed at 11 AM on the Ist of May.

    Please attend if you can!

See Flyer for this in the Events menu for May 1st

Andrew McInally is running his workshop on two Saturdays starting 28th April '18. Check out the details on the events menu - only two seats available as I write - first come .....

If you are unlucky your name should go onto a waiting list and Andrew will probably run further workshops, in between filming, family, getting into the Heritage Shed, starting metal work and blacksmithing - HELP THE MAN!!
